Yes, your guide stays with you throughout the journey, including on the Flåm Railway and the Nærøyfjord cruise. You are not left alone while the guide moves a vehicle or waits somewhere else. Your guide is there to handle boarding, keep track of the connections and answer questions along the way.
How is this different from a bus tour to Flåm?
Unlike a large bus tour, this is a small group journey with a more personal feel. You travel with the same guide throughout the day, with room for questions, conversation and help at every connection. The railway and fjord cruise are still the highlights, but you experience them with a small group rather than as part of a crowd.
Will there be time to eat during the Flåm day trip?
There is time to eat along the way, but not for a long restaurant stop. We recommend bringing something or buying food before departure. Food may also be available on the fjord cruise or at Voss station.
Which tickets are included in the Flåm day trip?
All the transport for the round trip is included: the train from Bergen to Myrdal, the Flåm Railway down to Flåm, the fjord cruise through Nærøyfjord to Gudvangen, the shuttle bus from Gudvangen to Voss and the train from Voss back to Bergen. Your guide holds all the tickets and handles every connection, so you do not need to book anything separately.
Can you guarantee the return time to Bergen?
The tour is eight hours, and the day normally ends back in Bergen in the early afternoon. In rare cases we might be delayed, because trains, cruises and buses in Norway can run late and the timetable can change during the season. Please avoid booking tight onward connections on the same day. If you are a cruise passenger, check your ship's all-aboard time carefully before booking.
Is the Flåm day trip accessible?
The tour is not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers. The day involves several changes between trains, the fjord boat and a bus, sometimes with steps and short walks on platforms and quays. Travel light, as you carry your own bags all day. If you are travelling with an infant or have questions about luggage or mobility, contact us before booking and we will give you a clear answer.
Can I bring my dog or other pets?
No, pets are not allowed on any of our tours. On the Flåm day trip this also applies to assistance dogs and guide dogs. The day is spent almost entirely on trains, a fjord boat and a bus, with constant changes and very little time on solid ground, so we are not able to take dogs on this route.
